  10. **          This is JORJ- the ONE and ONLY Phonetic Dictionary from         **
  11. **          JORJ SOFTWARE. This is a Copyrighted Shareware product.         **
  12. **          That means that you are free to use it for evaluation.          **
  13. **       If you like it and decide to keep it then you must pay for it.     **

  15. **   Requirements:  Close IBM compatability, DOS 2.x or 3.x and Hard Disk.  **

  19.    In addition to this "READ.ME" file, the distribution package contains-     
  20.             Three .COM FILES used for automatic installation.
  21.               Two .ARC FILES which hold the following items.
  22.  
  23.                JORJ.DOC   (Program documentation)
  24.                JORJ.EXE   (The Driver Program)
  25.                JORJ.DB1   (Database Part 1)
  26.                JORJ.DB2   (Database Part 2)

  28.     The database is divided in two parts so that it may be distributed
  29.     on a pair of 360k disks. The 2 portions are combined on the TARGET
  30.     disk with the following commands.

  32.                 COPY/b jorj.db1+jorj.db2/v
  33.                 REN jorj.db1 jorj.dat
  34.                 DEL jorj.db2
  35.  
  36.    The INSTALL Routine is provided to perform these chores for you.
  37.  
  38.    Some folks are understandably nervous about blindly running an
  39.    INSTALL routine. So this is what the INSTALL routine will do.
  40.    (It assumes you have a HARD disk which must be the TARGET Drive.)
  41.  
  42.         1. Creates a new Directory "\JORJ" on HARD disk.
  43.         2. Copies 2 working files from the SOURCE drive.
  44.         3. Unpacks the file JORJ-1.
  45.         4. Requests you to insert Disk #2 (for 360k disks).
  46.         5. Unpacks the file JORJ-2.
  47.         6. Builds the Database (JORJ.DAT) from the work files.
  48.         7. Daletes all unnecessary work files.
  49.         8. Requests you to add Directory \JORJ to your PATH.

  51.       Now- To proceed with the installation-
  52.            From the floppy drive containing this disk type:
  53.                       INSTALL A: C:
  54.       
  55.     Where A: is the SOURCE DRIVE (Floppy) AND C: is the TARGET DRIVE (Hard).
  56.           ( NOTE:   IF YOUR DRIVES ARE DESIGNATED DIFFERENTLY,
  57.                            THEN USE THE APPROPRIATE LETTERS. )
